Health, Safety & Environmental Manager - Raron
Jocelyn Blackham is recruiting for a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to join a company in the Medical Device industry at their site based in Raron on a contract basis until June 2019, with the strong possibility of extenstion.
The main purpose of the role will be to:
- Ensure local facility EHS operations are in compliance with federal, state & local EHS regulations as well company standards
- Develop & implement site MAP to address EHS program deficiencies & ensure EHS regulatory compliance
- Develop EHS objectives for the site-auditing, analyzing, documenting & reporting on their implementation & effectiveness to mgmt. via dashboards & reports
- Provide management with ongoing consultation pertaining to environmental, health & safety regulations identifying the impacts of changes to regulations on key business objectives
- Monitor performance of EHS through inspection & auditing of mgmt. systems & procedures
- Support implementation of EHS training strategy for the site, ensuring key risks & regulatory requirements are addressed for appropriate audiences, including new hires
Further responsibilities will include:
- Supporting & facilitating site EHS committees/teams to ensure implementation of the EHS program
- Monitoring & evaluate EHS risks of operations, including change mgmt., ensuring continuous improvement of the EHS program to make it leaner & more efficient
In order to be considered for this role, you will be required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in scientific discipline (chemistry, physics, etc.)
- Industry recognized EHS qualifications at practitioner level
- Deployment and maintenance of mgmt. systems such as ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001
- Demonstrated Project Management skills
- Technical experience in diverse EHS areas including but not limited to air, water, hazardous and medical waste, machine safety, ergonomics, industrial hygiene and chemical handling is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills in German and English are essential
