Junior Project Lead - Bettlach

Jocelyn Blackham is recruiting for a Junior Project Lead to join a company a global medical device company at their site based in Solothurn. This position is offered on a contract basis until the end of 2018, with the strong possibility of extension.

The main purpose of the role will be to:

  • Play a key role in leading documentation activities related to the transfer of production from one external supplier to an existing internal capacity
  • Lead insourcing efforts and support process improvement activities
  • Lead new equipment acquisition efforts including user requirement specifications, machine selection, installation, validation, employee training, and other related equipment responsibilities as required
  • Participate in and lead cross-functional teams which may include, but are not limited to Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality Assurance, Finance, Product Development and other sites.
  • Act as a liaison to vendors with regard to contracted products, tools & fixtures, and their manufacture

In order to be considered for this role, you will be required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Experience in manufacturing and/or engineering required
  • Bachelor of Science Degree from accredited institution in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related degree is essential, an MSc would be beneficial
  • Previous experience working in a regulated industry, such as Medical Device is preferred
  • Six Sigma or Lean Sigma certification is preferred, however experience within the industry is also relevant
  • Experience developing and implementing robust automated manufacturing equipment is preferred
  • Experience with packaging, Laser, and CNC processes and equipment is desirable
  • Project management skills and previous experience
  • Fluent English written and spoken skills, and conversational German at a minimum is desirable
