Process Engineer DSP - Basel
Jasmin Baumgartner is recruiting for a Process Engineer to join an innovative health company at their site based in Basel on a permanent basis.
The main purpose of the role will be to:
- Complete downstream process development and purification/separation techniques at benchtop-scale.
- Enhance processes for improved operability, cost reduction and downstream process development.
- Support the transfer and scale up of commercial manufacturing processes to CMOs.
- Optimize processes for improved operability, cost reduction and downstream process improvement.
Further responsibilities will include:
- Developing mass, utility and energy balances and defining utility consumption and generation requirements.
- Leading the technical development of process narratives, block flow diagrams (BFDs), process flow diagrams (PFDs) and P&IDs.
- Assisting in the development of manufacturing documentation such as process descriptions, batch records and SOPs.
- Leading day to day troubleshooting as well as longer term process improvement projects.
- Support the transfer and scale up of commercial manufacturing processes to CMOs.
In order to be considered for this role, you will be required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry or related disciplines, with previous working experience in an industrial setting, ideally including interaction with industrial/commercial partners.
- Hands-on experience with industrial scale bioprocessing recovery equipment.
- Experience in the areas of crystallization, drying, ion exchange chromatography, filtration, centrifugal separations, liquid/liquid extraction, evaporation and distillation are especially valued.
- Experience in successful execution and management of process technical transfer.
