Switzerland has been ranked the third happiest country in the world to live in, by the World Happiness Report 2021.
The report focuses on the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, looking at how people all over the world have fared in terms of structure and quality of life. It also examines how different governments have dealt with the pandemic, with the aim of explaining why some countries have done better than others.
Based on seven rankings (GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom to make life choices, generosity, perceptions of corruption and dystopia), Switzerland was ranked the third happiest place to live between 2018 and 2020, just behind Denmark and Finland.
