Automation Engineer - Zuchwil

Jocelyn Blackham is recruiting for an Automation Engineer to join a company in the Medical Device industry at their site based in Zuchwil on a contract basis until the end of 2019.

The main purpose of the role will be to:

  • Advise and support in the definition of a strategy to implement increased capabilities in the automatic identification and verification of products for laser marking and packaging (screws).
  • Coordinate different value streams and teams (engineering, quality, manufacturing etc.) in the definition and the implementation of the new strategy.
  • Focus on the development and implementation of the automation strategy for the areas: part inspection and laser marking.
  • Identify and recommend transformational process opportunities across the different value streams with focus on automated solutions.

Further responsibilities will include:

  • Providing direction in identifying needs for automated solutions, based on a holistic view of the different value streams. This includes a good understanding of the feasibility and profitability of innovative technologies and optimization of existing production processes.
  • Developing process validation strategy for automated systems and supports engineering studies, process validation protocols and summary reports (IQ, OQ, PQ, CSV and Test Method Validation).

In order to be considered for this role, you will be required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience:- A background in automation and in particular experience in visual technology is essential.

  • Bachelor/Master of Science Degree from an accredited institution/university in Mechanical, Electrical or Automation Engineering or a related technical degree.
  • Experience in automation technology or machine vision and programming knowledge with software such as .NET, NI LabVIEW, Cognex VisionPro, MVTec HALCON or similar application software are beneficial.
  • Multi-year experience in developing and implementing robust automated manufacturing solutions.
