Jocelyn Blackham is recruiting for a Senior System Life-Cycle Engineer to join a top global pharmaceutical company at their the newly built System Life-Cycle team based at their site in Bern. This position is offered on a contract basis until the endof 2022, with the possibility of extension.

Senior System Life-Cycle Engineer Role:

  • Working closely with other departments ensure the system functionality in routine (GMP operations during batch manufacturing) and extra-routine phases (periodic qualification and validation, maintenance shut-down),
  • Being domain expert for new and existing system related to DSP (Downstream Process) manufacturing of biotech products in the site
  • Preparation, reviewal and approval of technical and GMPrelated documentation (URS, FMEA, impact/risk assessment) in collaboration with internal partners and system Suppliers

Key duties will include:

  • Compilation of costs for CAPEX application (supplier quotations, and internal workload estimation)- Supporting inspection readiness, requests from internal and external audits / inspections, and follow-up performing assigned actions,
  • Applying critical decision making, project management skills

In order to be considered for this role, you will be required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Scientific field is required. An Advanced Degree in a related field is an asset
  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical development or pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Previous experience related to DSP equipment (ÄKTA / AxiChrom purification systems, centrifuges)
  • Knowledge of activities related to equipment qualification and process validation
