Import/Export Specialist (Pharmaceuticals)
We are looking for someone with experience in international trade, ideally for highly regulated goods. The person will be joining a global biopharmaceutical company based in the canton of Lucerne.
Your main responsibilities
• Act as the central point of contact for import and distribution-related enquiries at the site, and provide advice to internal teams and external stakeholders
• Coordination of import and export processes for the entire site, including checking invoices, drawing up clear customs clearance instructions for external brokers, verifying customs clearances and maintaining relevant data.
• Preparation of complete shipping documents in accordance with the Global Trade Compliance Standard and Good Distribution Practice, including pro forma invoices, packing lists, dangerous goods declarations and certificates of origin.
• Ensuring all necessary import and export authorisations, licences and regulatory documentation are in place.
• Coordinating, organising and monitoring temperature-controlled air and road transport for domestic and international shipments.
• Submitting customs declarations via the EDEC/Expovit system.
General duties
• Compiling, maintaining and analysing relevant statistics and operational key performance indicators
• Carrying out tasks in accordance with trade compliance standards, SOPs and internal guidelines.
• Ensuring compliance with GMP, GDP and EHS requirements within one’s own area of responsibility.
• Preparing, reviewing and approving GMP-related documentation
• Using regulated systems, e.g. Veeva and MEDS, to carry out GxP-related activities.
Requirements
• Several years’ experience in international trade
• Experience in dealing with regulatory requirements, particularly GMP and GDP, would be an advantage.
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office; knowledge of SAP would be an advantage.
• An independent, structured, meticulous and solution-oriented approach to work.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, as well as an enthusiasm for cross-functional collaboration.
• Very good written and spoken German and English.
