Job Title: Lab Technician - Analytical Chemistry

Work Location: Basel (no remote working)

Country: Switzerland

Duration: Till August 2025

Rate: Up to CHF 47.50 (8 hours per day) depending on experience

 

Your main duties as a Lab Technician will include:

  • Working as part of the Biocatalysis / Protein Engineering Team to unlock the next breakthroughs in biocatalysis.
  • Supporting and expanding the development of biocatalytic processes.
  • Analysing of samples for a variety of compound classes including small molecules, oligonucleotides and proteins using HPLC
  • UV, HPLC
  • MS, SFC, GC
  • FID, GC
  • MS, LC
  • MS and RapidFire
  • MS  

Additional duties will include:

  • Interpretation of the analytical data, if needed using statistical tools
  • Documenting the analytical raw data utilizing a specific LIMS system to track samples and analyses
  • Assisting in the development and execution of assay to support enzyme screening in high
  • throughput (HTP) formatting  

Your Background:

  • The team requires someone with a Scientific background, and has worked as a Lab technician (apprenticeship) or BSc/MSc level in analytical chemistry or analytical biochemistry, ideally with at least 4 years of relevant experience
  • Solid hands
  • on experience with analytical instrumentation and excellent understanding of analytical separation, detection, and measurement concepts
  • Experience with small molecule detection using LC
  • MS and GC
  • MS strongly preferred  

Language requirements:

  • Fluent in English, basic knowledge of German considered a plus
